Barcelona vs. Inter Milan Prediction, Best Bet, Latest Champions League Semifinal Odds for Leg 1

The Champions League semifinals will continue on Wednesday afternoon, when Barcelona hosts Inter Milan in the second game. It should promise more action than the one-goal game of Arsenal vs. Inter Milan yesterday, but can Raphinha and Barcelona win without Lewandowski? Matt MacKay previews this Barcelona vs. Inter Milan Champions League Semifinal and gives his best bet for Leg 1.

Barcelona vs. Inter Milan Prediction

We saw Arsenal lose outright, 1-0, as a home favorite to PSG. However, I don't believe we'll see this outcome again on Wednesday during Barcelona's home game against Inter.

The Spaniards will be playing without one of their top goal scorers, Robert Lewandowksi, due to a hamstring injury. While that's a big blow, considering Lewandowksi has 11 goals through 12 Champions League matches, Raphina will be on the pitch to lead Barcelona.

Raphina, Barcelona's Brazilian forward, has 12 goals and seven assists for Barcelona during Champions League play. The offense will roll through him but Raphina is more than capable of setting up his teammates to finish offensive possessions in the opponent's net.

Barcelona has a league-high 28 goals scored and a +15 goal differential, compared to Inter's 11 goals and +10 goal differential. That's right, Inter allowed just one goal before the Round of 16. They beat Feyenoord 4-1 on aggregate and just knocked out Bayern Münich during a 4-3 aggregate win in the Quarter-Finals.

Barcelona beat Benefica 4-1 on aggregate and Dortmund 5-3 on aggregate during the Quarter-Finals. Lewandowksi's absence will be the main hurdle for the Spaniards to overcome against Inter.

Inter has the ability to play multiple styles without dominating time of possession, relying on counter-attacks. They are undoubtedly outmatched in terms of star power in comparison to Barcelona, who prefers to execute a high press with vertical passing to impose its offensive will on an opponent.

Unlike Arsenal yesterday, who fell into an early deficit, I expect Barcelona to come out as the aggressor in this match against Inter today. Even without Lewandowski, Raphina and company are more than capable of generating scoring chances in the attacking third.

Inter hasn't scored more than two goals during any leg since competing in the Round of 16. Barcelona has scored three or more goals during two of its four legs played in the Round of 16 and Quarter-Finals. They won both first leg outings by a combined 5-0, while scoring at least four goals in half of their group play matches.

I'm willing to drink the juice and lay up to two units on Barcelona's moneyline at -154 odds. They are simply more talented, better at scoring, and have the home crowd on their side against an Inter roster that does not have as much star power in its lineup.
