Jodar enters his first Masters 1000 semifinal as a -222 favorite, with Nakashima available at +179. It is a significant change from the shorter prices Jodar continued receiving earlier in this hard-court run despite repeatedly beating established ATP opponents.
The Spaniard has earned the upgrade. After dropping the opening set against Corentin Moutet in his Montreal opener, Jodar has not lost another, beating Lorenzo Musetti 6-4, 6-3, Jiri Lehecka 6-3, 6-3 and Arthur Fils 7-6(5), 6-3. He is now up to No. 11 in the live rankings after beginning 2026 at No. 168.

Rafael Jodar vs. Brandon Nakashima Prediction
The Lehecka performance was particularly impressive on a surface where oddsmakers had continued to question how quickly Jodar’s game would translate. He won 86% of his first-serve points and controlled the baseline throughout, then handled another dangerous opponent in Fils without needing a deciding set.
Nakashima is also playing his best tennis of the tournament at the right time. He survived consecutive three-set matches against Titouan Droguet and Arthur Rinderknech before producing his cleanest performance Tuesday, overpowering Luciano Darderi 6-2, 6-3 in just 77 minutes.
That serving ability is what makes Nakashima dangerous despite the wide moneyline. Jodar has been nearly untouchable since losing his first set of the tournament, but the opening set remains the point where he has looked most vulnerable. Nakashima has enough free points on serve to make one early break or a tiebreak extremely meaningful.
These two have never met, and both are playing their first Masters 1000 semifinal. Jodar has clearly produced the more explosive rise, but Nakashima has already shown he can survive extended three-set pressure and then immediately follow it with a dominant performance.

Jodar may ultimately have too much from the baseline, but -222 is finally asking bettors to pay full price for his breakout. Nakashima has the serve to steal the opening set before Jodar settles into the match, creating a much better route through three sets than either moneyline. The +120 price provides enough value on a matchup where both players have a legitimate path to a set.
