
Bookmakers were saved by the last two races on Day 1 of the Festival after feeling the heat early on thanks to a string of Willie Mullins favourites.
After five races on Day 1 of the Cheltenham Festival, 39% of all bets had either won or placed (each-way), with the State Man and Lossiemouth double accounting for over 10% of Day 1 accumulators.
The three most popular bets on Day 2 of the Festival are all Willie Mullins favourites. Ballyburn leads the way, accounting for 11% of all Day 2 bets, followed by El Fabiolo (7.6%) and Fact To File (7.4%).

Punters who missed out on the Day 1 treble for Willie Mullins are making sure they don’t make the same mistake today.
Just over 37% of all £10 or over accumulators placed on Day 2 of the Festival include Ballyburn, El Fabiolo and Fact To File.
Willie Mullins has more than 20 runners in total on Day 2, with other chances including Sa Majeste (5/1 Coral Cup), Saint Roi (7/1 Grand Annual) and Jasmin De Vaux (9/2 Champion Bumper).
Oddschecker spokesperson Sam Eaton said: “Day 1 looked like it could be a blood bath for bookmakers after the opening five races but were treated to two friendly results to finish.
“Bookmakers will be hoping for an off day for Mullins, especially as just over 17% of all Day 2 accumulators with a stake over £10 are on the Ballyburn, El Fabiolo and Fact To File treble.”
