Joshua vs Ngannou

Anthony Joshua returns to Saudi Arabia once again to continue his active streak, this time against MMA star-turned-boxer Francis Ngannou

The huge Cameroonian shocked the boxing world on his professional debut when he dropped Tyson Fury before being beaten, somewhat controversially, on points by the WBC heavyweight champ.

For Joshua, who ended last year in impressive fashion with a demolition job on Otto Wallin, this fight is a chance to make a statement as he continues his quest to regain world titles. Any slip-ups, and he can forget all about his dream fight with fellow Brit Fury.

Anthony Joshua vs Francis Ngannou Prediction

Hardly anybody gave Francis Ngannou a prayer when he made his boxing bow against Tyson Fury in October. Fewer still predicted that the British world champion would be dumped on his backside on the way to a fraught points win.

There is no doubt then, that Anthony Joshua will not be taking the former MMA champion lightly. Preparation has been intense under the guidance of Ben Davison with all involved in the AJ business fully aware of the threat involved and the opportunity that knocks if all goes to plan.

The Olympic gold medallist has always endured more than his fair share of criticism, with many questioning his mental fortitude and lack of spite. Detractors were silenced to some degree when AJ inflicted a first stoppage defeat for Otto Wallin two days before Christmas.

An active fighter is a better fighter and Joshua’s tail is up as he looks to make another explosive statement. Expect his team to have done their homework with AJ controlling from the opening bell.

Ngannou may prove tough and durable and displayed decent boxing skills in his first contest, but Joshua will catch up with him in the second half of the fight.
