Sauce Gardner has long been the favorite to win Defensive Rookie of the Year, but it’s gotten to the point that the books think he has it locked up. Gardner is given -600 odds, or an implied 85.7% chance to take home the award. His only competition is Tariq Woolen who’s given +500 odds, or an implied 16.7% chance to win the award and Aidan Hutchinson who’s given +800 odds, or an implied 11.1% chance. No other player is given better than +5000 odds.
The Offensive Rookie of the Year award is a little more competitive. The books do have a top-4 though. Chris Olave is given +600 odds, or an implied 14.3% chance to win the award. Christian Watson is given +350 odds, or an implied 22.2% chance to turn TDs into an award. The top of the market is a tie though. Garrett Wilson and Kenneth Walker are both given +200 odds, or an implied 33.3% chance to win the award.
If both Gardner and Wilson win the awards, it would be only the third time in NFL history. Mel Farr and Lem Barney won them for the Lions in 1967, and Alvin Kamara and Marshon Lattimore won them for the Saints in 2017.

This Jets rookie class is looking to be a historic one in more ways than one. In August, Sauce Gardner was seventh on the market at +1400 and was not among the top 25 defensive rookies bet on the win the award. Garrett Wilson was +2000, which was 14th on the market, but he also wasn’t among the top 25 most bets on offensive rookies. From massive underdogs to historic winners?
