Micah Parsons Defensive Player of the Year Odds: Can the Rookie Pull it Off?

Micah Parsons Defensive Player of the Year Odds: Can the Rookie Pull it Off?
Micah Parsons is an absolute freak for the Dallas Cowboys. Heading into the game he had 10 sacks, 72 tackles, and a league-leading 16 tackles for a loss. Well, he added onto that with a monster first half against the Washington Football Team.
Again, keep in mind this is through just half of the game, Parsons has two sacks, a tackle for a loss, two quarterback hits, and a forced fumble that lead to a touchdown.
I mean, there’s a reason why he’s -2000 to win defensive rookie of the year but what about defensive player of the year? Honestly, it’s not that crazy. Forget from a rookie, Parsons is having an elite level season for even a veteran at the NFL level.
As of now, he is at +2000 to take home the award. TJ Watt is the favorite to take home the award at +200 with Myles Garrett at +250 right behind him. Heck, even Cowboys teammate Trevon Diggs at +500 is up there with all of his interceptions.
Regardless of if Parsons win the award or not, what an incredible find for the Cowboys in the first round of the 2021 draft class. I don’t know if he can leapfrog some of these names in front of him but with the performance he put together today, there’s absolutely a reason to keep an eye on him down the stretch.
