Detroit Lions vs. Minnesota Vikings Odds: Bettors Believe Lions Can Pull Off Upset in Week 3
Bettors whiffed on their choices last week, as both the Bears and the Texans lost in their attempts to win as double-digit underdogs. So, that makes bettors’ 1-1 this season as they hunt for the biggest underdog every week. Their Week 3 choice is another road underdog, the Detroit Lions.
The Lions come into the game as 6-point underdogs against the Minnesota Vikings. Yet 66.7% of bets have been placed on Detroit to pull off the upset. That means just 33.3% of bets have been placed on the Vikings to get the home victory.

If the Lions do pull off the upset they’ll be breaking two streaks. First, they haven’t won in Minnesota since 2017. Second, the last time they won a game as a six-point underdog was last season when the Lions defeated the Cardinals as 12.5 point underdogs.
This is a tough one. The Lions' offense has been among the best in football over the first two weeks of the season. That includes putting up 35 points against an Eagles team that just made the Vikings look like pretenders. That said, Kirk Cousins always struggles in primetime. Expecting him to have a repeat performance, especially against a much weaker Lions defense, would be a mistake. This game might be a shootout, and given the Lions' history both in Minnesota and in close games it seems like bettors are going out on a limb in this one.
