Who will be the next head coach of the Houston Texans? That's the question on every fan's mind in Houston right now. I'm not ready to make an official prediction, but I do have a good idea.
If the sportsbooks are going to be believed, there is already a leader in the clubhouse and he's no stranger to the state of Texas.
Kliff Kingsbury, who played his college ball at Texas Tech before becoming the head coach there, is the current favorite to become the next head coach of the Houston Texans. Sure, he was basically run out of Arizona, but that doesn't seem to matter when it comes to Houston Texans next head coach odds.
Former Houston Texans head coach Lovie Smith was fired after just one season at the helm, the second straight Texans; head coach to meet that fate. Now, the Texans look for their next head coach to take over. The difference is the incoming coach will have a young QB to work with.
Despite the fact that Houston blew the opportunity to have the No. 1 overall pick this season, at No. 2 they will likely have the chance to draft either CJ Stroud or Bryce Young to be their QB of the future. So, the incoming coach is already coming in with a leg up over Lovie Smith as he had to deal with Davis Mills.
Is it a sure thing that Kliff Kingsbury will be the next head coach of the Houston Texans? No, of course not. But, the sportsbooks have made it clear that he's the favorite, according to Houston Texans next head coach odds.

Right behind Kingsbury is a name that is quite familiar to the coaching carousel, although he's never actually landed a head gig. At +500, Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy is the second favorite, implying a 16.7% chance he gets the job.
Next on the list is an interesting one. At +500, this coach has the same odds as Bieniemy, but he has never even been a coordinator. Patriots' linebacker coach Jerod Mayo has been linked to the Browns' defensive coordinator job, but he is also apparently one of the favorites to be the next head coach of the Houston Texans.
