On Sunday, the New York Giants travel to Minnesota to take on the Vikings in what should be a close game on Super Wild Card Weekend across the NFL. But, who should you be betting on when it comes to your NFL picks?
Both these teams started the season in two very different places, but they end up facing off on Sunday with a trip to the Divisional Round on the line.
For the Giants, I'm not sure a playoff push was ever truly on their minds. In reality, they figured this would be Daniel Jones' last season as a member of the team and they would likely be moving on from Saquon Barkley. Instead, they both had great seasons and will likely be back.
In their first season under head coach Brian Daboll, the Giants have been a pleasant surprise. After a brutal 2021-2022 season, they finished 9-7-1 and clinched the No. 6 spot in the NFC. Sure, they still finished third in their division, but in the NFC East that still buys you a playoff spot.
As for the Vikings, they've had the NFC North wrapped up for what seems like months at this point as a disappointing season from the rival Green Bay Packers allowed them to walk to an NFC North crown. But, there are still a lot of questions about their consistency as a team.

As you can see from the latest New York Giants vs. Minnesota Vikings odds, sportsbooks seem to believe that this is the Vikings' game to lose. But, if you dig a little closer it may actually be priced up in the Giants' favor.
The Vikings are 13-4 on the year. They've lost just two games at home all season and have Super Bowl aspirations on their mind. Meanwhile, the Giants snuck into the playoffs at 9-7-1, they have one of the worst offenses in the postseason and haven't done much of anything down the stretch.

So, why do Vikings vs. Giants odds only favor the Vikings by three at home?
It probably has a lot to do with the fact that the Vikings just hosted the Giants a few weeks ago and won that game by exactly three points thanks to a last-minute 61-yard field goal.
As for the moneyline, you can still get the Vikings at a pretty good price to just win outright. The Vikings sit at -155 while the Giants have +135 odds to come away with a win.
New York Giants vs. Minnesota Vikings Prediction
I said this earlier in the week when I made my initial Minnesota Vikings vs. New York Giants prediction. I'm betting on the Vikings to cover, but it's really a bet against the Giants more than it is a bet for the Vikings. I just can't trust a team in the Giants that are 0-6 against NFC playoff teams so far this season and have lost those games by an average of 10 points. I don't trust Daniel Jones to go on the road and perform when it matters most. I think the Vikings end up winning by at least 10 and we see them advance to the Divisional Round.
