Who Will Score the First TD in Super Bowl 57?

The Eagles are given -125 odds or an implied 55.6% chance of scoring the first touchdown. Meanwhile, the Chiefs have -105 odds or an implied 51.2% chance.

This first TD is expected to be scored during the first quarter, the odds given being -300 or an implied 75% chance. However, the sportsbooks think only one team will score during this period and give -150 odds or an implied 40% chance.

Running Backs from both teams are the most favored positions to score the first TD. Both are given +175 odds or an implied 36.4% chance. While Wide Receivers are second on the market with +200 odds or an implied 33.3% chance.

The Super Bowls in recent years have seen a ton of scoring. The winning team has finished with 30 or more points in four of the last six. But despite the high-scoring nature of recent Super Bowls, the early scores matter. Of those six Super Bowls, the team that scored the first touchdown won five of them.

The only exception is the Atlanta Falcons blowing the largest lead in Super Bowl history to the New England Patriots. With the sportsbooks making the Eagles the favorites to win the game, it only makes sense that they’re favored to score the first touchdown.
