NFL Fantasy Start Em, Sit Em: 20 Players to Start or Sit in Week 5

Fantasy Football is about to get a little harder heading into Week 5. We must deal with bye weeks for the first time this season. To escape your best players on a bye week, read below to find the right fit for your team so that you can win this week's matchup.

Embarrassing your friends in Fantasy or are they embarrassing you? Lucky for you, we have over $5,000 in free bets in bonuses to use on the NFL! Even if your fantasy team is sucking, you can still brag about winning money!

Quarterbacks To Play in Week 5

1. Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals

2. C.J. Stroud, Houston Texans

Joe Burrow has been relegated to many benches to begin the season. But against Arizona, Burrow is a must-start quarterback. The offense hasn't figured anything out. But with Ja'Marr Chase telling the media that he's always open, we all know there will be some offensive changes to get him the ball. Meanwhile, C.J. Stroud threw another 300-yard game last weekend. He's confident and has a bunch of reliable receivers to throw to.

Quarterbacks To Sit in Week 5

3. Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers

4. Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams

5. Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers

All three of these quarterbacks have questionable matchups. Purdy will face the Cowboys, Love will take on the Raiders, and Stafford's got the Eagles. The Raiders aren't a good defense. But after Love's output last weekend, you can't get anywhere close to starting him this weekend.

Running Backs To Play in Week 5

6. Khalil Herbert, Chicago Bears

7. Alexander Mattison, Minnesota Vikings

8. Aaron Jones, Green Bay Packers

All that talk about Khalil Herbert losing snaps to Roschon Johnson was wrong. Herbert added 18 carries for 103 yards and caught four more balls while scoring a touchdown last weekend. You can confidently play Herbert, knowing he's the main guy in the ground game. Meanwhile, Alexander Mattison had 17 carries for 98 yards against the Panthers. He's not consistently progressing and should find the end zone soon. Finally, Aaron Jones was on a snap count that no one knew about last weekend. But with over a week to prepare for this game, Jones will likely see much more action, especially after Green Bay's pitiful performance against the Lions last week.

Hammer Aaron Jones overs at Ceasars right now. Bet up to $50 and get $250 that Jones has a better week than last and don't worry about losing!

Running Backs To Sit in Week 5

9. De'Von Achane, Miami Dolphins

10. Jahmyr Gibbs, Detroit Lions

De'Von Achane only had eight carries against the Bills but still added 101 yards on the ground. His production is mind-blowing but will not last with the short volume as a second running back. Speaking about second running backs, Jahmyr Gibbs isn't very involved in the Detroit offense. I know it's against the Panthers, but don't make the mistake. Keep Gibbs on the bench and be patient.

Wide Receivers To Play in Week 5

11. Nico Collins, Houston Texans

12. Garrett Wilson, New York Jets

This isn't a fluke. Nico Collins was excellent last year with Davis Mills. Now he's got C.J. Stroud, who is as confident as I've ever seen. Collins has caught 22 balls for 428 yards. He's not the 5th best receiver in fantasy points after seven catches for 168 yards and two touchdowns last weekend against the Steelers. Meanwhile, Garrett Wilson was heavily targeted last week against the Chiefs. With Zach Wilson's confidence up and Wilson getting a lot of opportunities, you can play him against the Broncos' defense.

Wide Receivers To Sit in Week 5

13. Courtland Sutton, Denver Broncos

14. Drake London, Atlanta Falcons

15. Michael Wilson, Arizona Cardinals

Courtland Sutton might've scored last week. But he had three catches for 27 yards against the Bears. He won't have many opportunities against the Jets. The same thing can be said about London. He had three catches for 28 yards but scored a touchdown. He's too inconsistent for fantasy football. London has also caught just 50% of the balls thrown his way this season. Lastly, Michael Wilson has come out of nowhere, with 14 catches on 16 targets. He played 70% of snaps and ran a ton of routes. But we need to see more of this before solidifying starting him in a fantasy football game.

Tight Ends To Play in Week 5

16. Jake Ferguson, Dallas Cowboys

17. Taysom Hill, New Orleans Saints

Jake Ferguson led the Cowboys in receiving last weekend, with seven catches for 77 yards against the Patriots. He's finally becoming a reliable target in the Cowboys' offense. If you're desperate for a tight end, Taysom Hill has a ton of upside. He can get you some carries, throw a couple of passes, and catch some passes. His versatility makes him a solid tight end target.

Can the Saints bounce back on Sunday? Well, FanDuel is the place to bet on Taysom Hill props right now!

Tight Ends To Sit in Week 5

18. Tyler Conklin, New York Jets

19. Kylen Granson, Indianapolis Colts

20. Zach Ertz, Arizona Cardinals

Tyler Conklin had four catches for 58 yards against the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football. But the Jets have three reliable tight ends, so it's hard to imagine he ever has a massive day. Meanwhile, there will be games where Zach Ertz gets a lot of action. But he caught six balls on ten targets and only added 53 yards. Against the Bengals, he won't get any significant gains, either.
