You can keep the receipts. A couple of weeks ago, I acknowledged that the 49ers might not lose a game this season. Since then, they've lost two straight games despite having an opportunity with the ball to win both games in the final seconds. Therefore, the Niners will move down the rankings as we head into Week 8. What other changes will there be? Here are our NFL Power Rankings after Week 7.
2023 NFL Power Rankings
1. Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles earned a big win over the Dolphins on Sunday Night Football. At 6-1 on the year, Philadelphia is the best team in the NFL right now. They're also the most balanced.
2. Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes just threw for over 400 yards and four touchdowns for the Chiefs in their win against the Chargers. Mahomes is still the top quarterback in the NFL.
3. San Francisco 49ers
The Niners have lost back-to-back games. But they're still a top-three team in the NFL. I'll stand by that. Brock Purdy has been trying to do too much. He and the Niners will be fine.
4. Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars didn't play Sunday. But that was because they earned their fourth straight win on Thursday Night Football over the New Orleans Saints. They've had a demanding schedule and have found a way to win.
5. Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens earned a 38-6 win over the Lions in a game that was expected to be tight. Baltimore is now a top-five team in the NFL.
6. Buffalo Bills
After losing to the Patriots, the Bills will get an early matchup against the Buccaneers at home on Thursday Night. That's the perfect type of game after a bad loss to a worse divisional opponent. They'll be ready for that one.
7. Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins are fun. But they're certainly not elite after a 31-17 loss to the Eagles on Sunday Night Football.
8. Dallas Cowboys
Dallas didn't play in Week 7. But they'll have the Rams at home in Week 8. That's favorable for Dallas.
9. Detroit Lions
The Lions lost to the Ravens in embarrassing fashion last weekend. But the good news is that a loss is a loss, no matter how bad it is. They'll rebound.
10. Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals are 3-3. However, they've got a tough matchup on the road against the Niners. Lucky for them, they've had a full two weeks to prepare.
11. Seattle Seahawks
12. Cleveland Browns
13. Houston Texans
14. Atlanta Falcons
15. Pittsburgh Steelers
16. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
17. New Orleans Saints
18. New York Jets
19. Minnesota Vikings
20. Los Angeles Rams
21. Indianapolis Colts
How did the Colts lose to the Browns last weekend?
22. Tennessee Titans
23. Washington Commanders
24. Green Bay Packers
25. Los Angeles Chargers
26. New England Patriots
A win against the Bills has helped the Patriots move up a few spots. But we won't overreact.
27. Chicago Bears
28. New York Giants
The Giants earned a sneaky victory over the Washington Commanders last weekend. The offense didn't play at an incredibly high level. But having Saquon Barkley back will only help this team move forward.
29. Denver Broncos
30. Arizona Cardinals
31. Las Vegas Raiders
32. Carolina Panthers
