Super Bowl Gatorade Color Prediction
We grabbed yellow gatorade (+250) earlier this week when it was a slight underdog to purple (+200), before a massive line move ensued to -165. The movement is largely operating off of comments from Lane Johnson, the star right tackle for the Eagles, who talked about yellow gatorade on a podcast last week. But he didn't even need to do that, as Philly has already been seen using the yellow/lime color multiple times.
They just had it dumped on Nick Sirianni in the NFC Championship Game after defeating the Commanders a few weeks ago, and also had it poured on in their Super Bowl victory back in 2018. While that last part may seem a little ancient as the team is largely refreshed, there are still plenty of holdovers left on this roster, including Lane himself.
Now if it's the Chiefs, we are looking at an entirely different story. They have used purple in each of the last two years, which we were lucky to hit at +1000 back in 2023 when they first beat the Eagles. However, we were riding with the 49ers last year who blew it in overtime, and the gatorade guess was way off, as the Chiefs repeated with the purple color.
Kansas City is a team that people have accused of using dark magic all year, with many of their comeback wins having unexplainable endings. The Raiders fumbled the game away in field goal range, and the Broncos doinked the game-winner off the upright. There have also been complains about the refs, but many were largely unfounded when breaking down the ratio of penalties at the end of the day. Regardless, will a team using voodoo to win games dare change up the color if they win?
While we're taking the Chiefs in this game, there is nothing to say that they'll definitely go with purple again. They used orange back in their 2020 victory, which is way back at +600 odds. Either way, you can call it a hedge on our Chiefs bet, or just a strongly educated guess, but we can be solidly confident that the Eagles will roll with yellow in the event of a win.
