PGA POWER RANKINGS: TOP 5 GOLFERS FOR 2024 SUMMER OLYMPICS
60 of the world's top men's golfers will compete in a 72-hole, stroke-play tournament at Le Golf National during the 2024 Summer Olympics this week.
32 countries are represented and while there is no cut line enforced, the biggest award is a golfer managing to win gold, silver, or bronze medals. No prize money is at stake if the event ends on Sunday with multiple players tied in first, second, or third, there will be a playoff held to determine which golfer winds up with the contested medal.
It's an exciting time to watch the world's best golfers at an iconic course at Le Golf National, which will be played on its Albatros course. For more on how to watch men's golf at the Olympics, a course analysis, outright winner betting market odds, and top five power rankings, PGA handicapper Matt MacKay is here to break it all down ahead of Thursday's opening round.

2024 SUMMER OLYMPICS - Le Golf National (Albatros course)
The Albatros course is one of several golf courses located at Le Golf National resort. Situated over 20 miles from the Olympic Village, southwest of downtown Paris, France, this par 71 track is 7,174 yards.
It's comprised of ryegrass - fescue fairways, which run parallel with numerous water hazards and fescue fields. Greens are set to run fast and range from 6,500 - 8,600 square feet on average, making them notably bigger than other courses we've seen recently on the PGA Tour.
Accuracy is emphasized by the narrow, undulating fairways, which provide good surfaces for ripping approach shots onto greens guarded by bunkers and plenty of water. The final four holes all feature water hazards, while most of the front-nine and first-half of the back-nine feature more land-based hazards and field fescue. However, the rough stands anywhere from 2.5 to 4.5 inches in length, which is going to keep scorecards relatively low at Albatros this week.

2024 SUMMER OLYMPICS POWER RANKINGS
1. SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER (+360)
Scottie Scheffler's once again the outright betting favorite, even at The Olympics. The World No. 1 has six outright wins this season and is among the most accurate golfers tee-to-green and on approach.
Scheffler's power is also a big piece of his game, but the soft touch on approach and around the greens separates him from most of the field. His putter has gone a bit cold lately, which could prove challenging on these large, fast-paced greens at Albatros this week.
2. XANDER SCHAUFFELE (+550)
After going years without a major win, Xander Schauffele has added two major titles to his resumé in 2024, including most recently at Royal Troon during the British Open. Schauffele also has experience competing in the Olympics, winning gold for Team USA back in 2021.
Schauffele has virtually no glaring weaknesses in his game right now. His approach and scrambling are top-tier though, while his putting ability is more than capable of climbing the leaderboard.
3. JON RAHM (+1000)
Jon Rahm was cooking at Royal Troon on the front-nine before being challenged on the back-nine, cooling off after a hot start with multiple birdies due to great iron and putting prowess.
The Spaniard just won the most recent LIV golf event as well, so he's carrying momentum into the Olympics this week. Rahm has struggled in most majors played on the PGA Tour this season, while also undergoing an operation on his foot, but he looks to be rounding into form and reminding us of his talent.
4. TOMMY FLEETWOOD (+2200)
Tommy Fleetwood has won a DP World Tour event at this course, back in 2017, while also performing well during the 2018 Ryder Cup at Albatros. The Englishman loves this course and ranks top-50 SG: off-the-tee and 25th SG: around-the-green in 2024.
Approach shots have been poor this year for Fleetwood, which is concerning at a venue like Albatros. However, his comfort level is obvious here, so this could trump his inability to consistently find greens in regulation like we've seen during other PGA Tour events.
22-1 is a pretty short number based on Fleetwood's recent finishes, failing to record a top-10 since a T3 at The Masters, so oddsmakers appear bullish on the Englishman to have a chance at contending this week.
5. COREY CONNERS (+3500)
Accuracy and Corey Conners are synonymous with each other. The Canadian golfer is among the best gaining strokes on approach this season on the PGA Tour, ranking fourth overall, while also sitting top-30 in SG: off-the-tee.
Putting is the primary issue for Conners, but at a course like Albatros, he should find himself in prime territory to hunt flagsticks and contend for a medal finish. 35-1 is good value to get on Conners, who ranks seventh tee-to-green, and 34th in driving accuracy.
He has two top-ten finishes in his last four events played and tends to start off with a low scorecard. If Conners can replicate the fast starts we've seen on the PGA Tour, he's a solid prospect to wager in the outright winner market, as well as in the finishing positions markets.
