Today is Opening Day for the MLB, and the Los Angeles Angels are traveling to Baltimore to take on the Orioles. I believe the Angels will struggle this season considering they lost their star player. And with the Orioles coming off of a hot season, I see them covering the spread today.

LOS ANGELES ANGELS VS. BALTIMORE ORIOLES PREDICTION
The MLB is finally back and I am beyond excited to get this season kicked off. I can't think of a better way to start off the season than to bet against the Angels with the Baltimore Orioles.
This Orioles team is full of young, highly skilled guys who I think are probably on the rise to elite level play this year. They were one of the hottest up and coming teams last year, and these young guys definitely want to take the league by storm. Gunar Henderson, Austin Hays, Ryan Mountcastle, Adley Rutschman, Anthony Santander, and Ryan O'Hearn are all guys capable of batting at least .275. They absolutely crushed spring training, and if this is even remotely indicative of the future, they are in for one heck of a season. Not to mention, they have an absolute stud of a pitcher in Corbin Burnes on the mound.
Meanwhile, I don't expect the Angels to be a competitive team whatsoever this season. Losing Shohei Ohtani is a huge hit for them, he basically carried that team with Trout always being injured. With Trout in, I would say they don't have the worst batting lineup, but I believe it is very inferior to the Orioles batting lineup.
Patrick Sandoval will take the mound for the Angels today, he had a 4.11 ERA in 2023, which isn't bad, but a 1.51 WHIP, which is bad. He is also known to be a very inconsistent pitcher. He pitched against the Orioles once last year, and he gave up seven hits and seven runs in five innings, the Orioles ended up winning that game 10-3. Sandoval has also been performing poorly in spring training, with an ERA of .715 and a WHIP of 1.95. I believe the Orioles will start off this season hot today and cover the spread for us.
