Here are three strikeout props to consider for today's slate!

Last season, Clarke Schmidt only struck out 21.5% of batters. He also allowed a .183 ISO and wOBA of .339.
After Houston lost its first three games against the Yankees, the Astros will likely try and be aggressive to salvage the series.
In the projected Houston lineup, the Astros hit a .203 ISO and wOBA of .355 against righties last season. Jose Altuve, Yordan Alvarez, and Yanier Diaz all smacked righties around. Kyle Tucker and Alex Bregman were also very good against righties.
As a projected lineup, the squad only struck out 20% of the time. Asking for five strikeouts out of Clarke Schmidt is a little much.

Let's take a plus-money shot.
Brandon Pfaadt proved what he was capable of during the postseason last year. He wasn't ever consistent in the regular season, but in his second year, he should mature and get more comfortable.
Pfaadt struck out 23.6% of batters last season, which was still an above-average rate.
He'll face a Rockies lineup that struck out 26.7% of the time against righties last season. Other than Charlie Blackmon and Kris Bryant, the entire lineup struck out at least 23.9% of the time against righties.
That's seven targets for Pfaadt, who will likely get through this lineup twice. I'll take my chances with Pfaadt.

Bryce Miller struck out 25.5% of righties last season as a right-handed pitcher.
He'll go up against a Red Sox team that struck out 29.5% of the time against right-handed pitchers last year. The projected lineup has just one batter who didn't strike out more than 23.6% of the time against righties.
Meanwhile, the Red Sox, despite facing a right-handed pitcher, will likely have more righties than lefties in the lineup. That only favors Miller, who struck out 25.5% of righties but just 18.4% of lefties.
