Welcome to the first MLB parlay of the season brought to you by Calling Our Shot. Every Monday through Friday, you’ll be able to count on us to provide you with a two-leg hit parlay to help fill your pockets with cash! Last year, the hit parlays did just that. This year, we aim to do it again. All it takes is one hit from two players…that sounds easy. Here’s who we are rolling with today with our MLB picks for Monday.
Monday's MLB Hit Parlay
Leg 1: Jose Altuve (HOU) to Record a Hit (Click here for the latest Houston Astros vs. Toronto Blue Jays odds)
Our first leg of this hit parlay is: Jose Altuve. Altuve will bat leadoff for the Houston Astros as they host the Toronto Blue Jays today. He is riding some momentum off a great day at the plate yesterday. Altuve was 2-4 and bumped his season batting average up to .333. Despite the Astros dropping to 0-4, he has been able to produce (it's the players behind him that are struggling!).
Today, Altuve faces Bowden Francis who makes his first start for the Jays today. For 2023, Francis was used in relief as a 2-3 innings pitcher. He will have his work cut out today against a relentless Astros lineup. Even in a four-game sample size, Altuve is crushing righties this year. He’s hitting .417 this season against righties and should see plenty of pitches to hit today.
Leg 2: Gunnar Henderson (BAL) to Record a Hit (Click here for the latest Baltimore Orioles vs. Kansas City Royals odds)
Our second leg of this hit parlay is Gunnar Henderson. Like Altuve, Henderson will bat leadoff as the Baltimore Orioles host the Kansas City Royals tonight. Yesterday, Gunnar had an annoying outcome for hit parlay bettors at the plate going 0-2 with two walks. While walks are good for Gunnar’s OBP, it didn’t help cash him for a hit yesterday.
That outcome was a bit flukey and we like Henderson to deliver a hit for us today. Michael Wacha will start for the Royals and likely won’t want to walk Gunnar to face very talented hitters behind him. Gunnar has a great lefty/righty matchup today against Wacha. Henderson is 3-6 batting .500 against righties this season and should be able to find a hit against Wacha and this Royals bullpen today.
We love backing both leadoff hitters. The more plate appearances, the better chance at getting us a hit. Let's hope both fellas do their job at the plate!
