San Francisco Giants vs. Los Angeles Dodgers Prediction
Jorge Soler was one of the best in the MLB against left-handed pitching last season hitting .277 with a .411 ISO and 14 home runs in 135 plate appearances (10.4%).
He’ll see the lefty James Paxton who had a 1.78 home runs to right-handed batters last season and ranked in the 27th percentile in barrels allowed. Paxton threw 57% 4-Seam Fastballs to RHB last season. Over the last two seasons, Soler has nine home runs in 64 PAs against lefty 4-Seam Fastball pitchers.
Soler has been hitting second in every game this season but SFG has not seen a lefty (SP) yet so I think there is a chance we see Soler bat third or fourth which we saw him do multiple times in Spring Training.
These odds are too good to pass up with the wind blowing out in a dinger friendly park.
