San Francisco Giants vs. Miami Marlins Prediction: Can the Bats Get to Jordan Hicks, Ryan Weathers?

San Francisco Giants vs. Miami Marlins Prediction: Can the Bats Get to Jordan Hicks, Ryan Weathers?

It’s been a tough start to the season for the Miami Marlins. We knew they were going to be bad, but did anyone expect them to be 3-14 at this point of the season? Their opponent tonight hasn’t gotten off to the greatest start this season either, as the San Francisco Giants are 7-10 currently treading water. A matchup against a struggling young lefty could be exactly what the Giants offense needs to get going on Tuesday night…

San Francisco Giants vs. Miami Marlins Prediction

Ryan Weathers threw a five-inning shutout against the Yankees on the road in his last start. He’s actually pitched much better in his two starts on the road this season than at home. Tonight, he will be pitching in Miami against a Giants lineup that crushes left-handed pitching. San Francisco hits nearly .300 against LHP this season with an OPS nearly 100 points higher compared to facing right-handers. It could be another long night for Weathers on his home mound…

Luckily for the Marlins, San Francisco won’t be the only team scoring runs on Tuesday. Jordan Hicks has been nails for the Giants so far this season, currently owning a 1.00 ERA, but all his props on the books are disrespecting him tonight. This is surprising considering he is facing the lowly Marlins. With the total on the rise from the o/u 8 opener to o/u 8.5 with juiced odds for the over. It looks like Hicks might take a step back after a great start to the season with how low his props are tonight.

The first game of this series went under yesterday. It’s weird seeing this total on the rise for the second game of this series, especially with two better arms slated to pitch tonight. To me, I expected this total to be lower than yesterday’s; seeing tonight’s total on the rise makes me like the over in this matchup even more. It seems like oddsmakers are expecting more runs tonight even with the better starting pitchers.

With the total on the rise, lock-in this over before you get worse odds. All it’s going to take for this game to go over the total is one of these two starting pitchers to struggle, and knowing their pitching history, that is more than feasible. Don’t be surprised if the Marlins win this game in an offensive shootout, but target the total instead of backing the 3-14 Marlins to win this game. I’ll meet you at the cash counter.
