April 17 Best MLB Strikeout Props

Max Fried Under 4.5 Ks (+112) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds

To start the season, Max Fried has added just 17.9% of strikeouts against 56 batters. This is a significant drop off from his 24.9% of strikeouts last season.

While Fried could potentially improve over time, he's likely not going to see great results against the Houston Astros.

Since last season, the Astros' projected lineup has hit a .194 ISO and wOBA of .357, with just 16.4% strikeouts against lefties.

While Fried could still throw a quality start, it's unlikely he'll get many strikeouts. Most balls will either be in play, or he'll walk a couple of the lefties. Take his Under.

Steven Matz Over 5.5 Ks (+104) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds

Although Steven Matz has only struck out 12.9% of batters to start the season, he's got plenty of strikeout targets in today's game against the Athletics.

Oakland's projected lineup has struck out 27.7% of the time against lefties since last season. Five guys have struck out at least 25% of the time against lefties since last season. Some of the lineup has a very small sample size. But overall, Matz should see a jump in his strikeout rate tonight.

After all, you'd still expect Matz to pitch at least five innings, if not more. He's walked just 4.8% of batters and has held opponents to a .052 ISO with a wOBA of .307, along with just 12% of fly balls allowed.

In addition, the Oakland lineup has combined to hit a .095 ISO and wOBA of .250 against lefties since last season. This projected lineup has also earned just 5.2% of walks against lefties since the previous year. Matz should pitch a gem.

Zack Littell Under 4.5 Ks (+116) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds

Zack Littell has struck out just 15% of his first 40 right-handed batters.

That's not ideal, knowing he's going up against an Angels lineup that has more righties than lefties.

Plus, the righties in the Angels' projected lineup have only struck out 21.6% of the time since last season.

This season, Littell has seen a spike in his strikeout rate against lefties, earning 37.5% of strikeouts against lefties this year. Last season, he earned just 23.2% of strikeouts against lefties. Eventually, his super-high 37.5% rate is going to drop against lefties. There's a good chance of that today, with the lefties in the Angels' projected lineup striking out under 24% of the time combined since last year.

Take Littell's Under.
