Instead of targeting a side in this game, I am targeting a player. The player I am looking at tonight to have a big game is Diamondback's first baseman, Christian Walker. Christian Walker had a red-hot start to the season, batting .300 coming into the series in Chicago. He went hitless against the Cubs, going 0–11 over the last three games. His average has dropped to .254 as a result, but I like him to get going in the first game of the series tonight against Logan Webb.
Logan Webb has started his season well, sporting a 3.8 ERA over his first four outings. The only start he struggled in was against the Dodgers when he gave up five runs in 3.2 innings. Other than that, he has had a quality start in his other three outings. However, the Diamondback's lineup has hit Logan Webb very well, specifically Christian Walker.
Christian Walker is 6–17 with a .353 batting average against Webb in his career. He also has two doubles and four walks in there. In his 21 at-bats against Webb, he has only struck out twice. Today, he is hitting in the four-hole, which is a recipe for driving in runs. Given that Walker has been struggling over his last few games, going hitless in his series against the Cubs, I love him to bounce back against a pitcher he has seen well in his career. Hitting .353 against Webb and only having two strikeouts in 21 at-bats gives me confidence he can put the bat on the ball if he gets runners in scoring position. Therefore, I am taking Christian Walker to go over 1.5 hits + runs + RBIs tonight.
