Welcome to the daily hit parlay, brought to you by Calling Our Shot. Yesterday, both Alec Bohm and Shohei Ohtani got a hit in their first at-bat within two minutes of each other in real time. Doesn't get better than that. Below, you'll find our two leg hit parlay. It looks very similar to yesterday...
TUESDAY'S HIT PARLAY
LEG 1: ALEC BOHM (PHI) TO RECORD A HIT
Our first leg of the hit parlay: Alec Bohm. Bohm and the Phillies face off against the Angels today. Alec Bohm is scorching hot. He has a hit in 13 straight games, batting .510 over that timespan. There's a reason we are betting on him once again. His season batting average is now a ridiculous .364.
Bohm faces off against Tyler Anderson, a lefty. Bohm is hitting .371 vs lefties and is seeing the ball well. Bohm bats in the four spot and should see plenty of chances since the Phillies are the road team and are guaranteed nine innings of at-bats.
We have to keep rolling with Bohm while he's still scorching hot.
LEG 2: SHOHEI OHTANI (LAD) TO RECORD A HIT
Our second leg of the hit parlay: Shohei Ohtani. Ohtani improved his batting average to .341 yesterday with two hits. It shouldn't take much convincing for you to lock in Ohtani, but I'll explain below why I like him once again today.
Ohtani will face off against Jordan Montgomery and the Diamondbacks. Ohtani is 2 for 6 lifetime vs. Montgomery, hitting .333. They have Montgomery's earned runs prop set to 3.5, so they clearly think the Dodgers get some production on him. Last year, Montgomery gave up a much higher batting average to lefties, than righties too, which works for me.
Ohtani is in the 100th Percentile for expected batting average, from Baseball Savant. He's also fast too, where he can beat out an infield single if that's what it comes down to.
