The Braves were on a mini win streak before dropping last night’s contest to the Diamondbacks. Tonight, they will be trotting out one of the best starting pitchers in Max Fried as they look to win this series. Will the snakes win their second game in a row against the Braves, or will Atlanta stay hot?

ATLANTA BRAVES VS. ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS PREDICTION
I bet on the Diamondbacks last night, and they came through at plus money. I’m going back to the well and locking them in again tonight. On paper, it looks like they have a tough matchup once again against Max Fried, but that’s exactly how last night’s matchup looked before the Diamondbacks shocked the world and pulled off the upset. I’m expecting much of the same tonight, as the public is hammering Fried and the Braves.
Just like last night, the public is all over Atlanta on the road against Arizona. More than 75% of the bets and handle (on VSiN) are currently backing Atlanta to win this series tonight, but Arizona has gotten nearly twenty cents of steam headed their way. This line movement is reminding me a lot of last night’s matchup where we cashed on Arizona at plus-money.
I want to back this Arizona team as we head into the All Star Break. They are one game under .500, and I’m sure the goal of the reigning World Series runner-ups is to have a winning record by the time they enter the All Star Break. The Diamondbacks have played solid baseball over the last month or so after a heinous start to the season, and until Atlanta shows me some consistency I am going to continue fading the overrated Braves.
Max Fried got rocked in his last outing. We’ve seen Fried lose command of the strike zone and struggle for a couple starts in a row before he locks back in. Typically this happens at the beginning of the season (like it did earlier this year), but after struggling in his last start I’m willing to bet he won’t be at his best again tonight. Fade the Braves for the second night in a row; I’ll meet you at the cash counter after the snakes win this series and get back to .500.
