I’m taking a more contrarian angle for this year’s contest. It’s been a while since we’ve seen an over in the All Star Game, but there are a ton of first-year pitchers in this event this time around. I wouldn’t be surprised of one of these big-name rookies like Shota or Skenes ends up giving up a run, either. The lights will be bright and they will be facing some of the best hitters in baseball.
Nobody is expecting Paul Skenes to struggle on Tuesday. All the hype around this event is surrounding Skenes, but how will he fare against some of the best hitters in baseball? I’m willing to bet we see some runs much earlier than everyone’s expecting. The YRFI is sitting at (+120) on the books, and I think it starts with Kwan getting on base for the AL…
Steven Kwan has been one of the best hitters in baseball this season. His job is to get on base, and the fact that he’s batting leadoff makes me confident he will get at least two, maybe three at bats.
