In the playoffs last year, the Rangers swept the Orioles early-on before winning the World Series. The Orioles already got their revenge earlier this year when they beat the Rangers in a three game series. This time around, they will be playing in Texas. I don’t know if the series will go as well for the O’s as it did earlier this year…
Corbin Burnes will be on the mound for the O’s after starting the MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday. He only threw a couple pitches, but I don’t like how the Orioles are trotting him out to open the second half of the season on short rest. Pitchers are creatures of habit, and even the little things can throw them off their game.
Nathan Eovaldi has looked much sharper in his last few outings. He has now lowered his ERA below a 3.00 after a seven-inning gem in Houston. I like his chances against an Orioles offense that limped into the All Star Break. After a couple of days off, I’m willing to bet they struggle against the veteran Eovaldi on the road…
