Michael Wacha will be taking the mound for the Royals after one of the best starts of his season against the White Sox last week. I’m not expecting the 33 year old veteran to follow up that start with another gem. If he was going to deal again, the Royals would be much heavier favorites than they currently are. Wacha and the Royals are barely favorites against Ryne Nelson and this Arizona team…
Ryne Nelson struggled early-on this season, but he’s been solid of late for the Diamondbacks. He’s allowed one or less run in three of his last four outings. Nelson is currently in the best form of his starting pitching career. I like his chances of silencing the Royals bats for the second night in a row. I want to buy-low on Arizona as we head towards the end of the season. I like their chances of winning this series on the road as they creep up the NL Wildcard standings.
I was expecting Michael Wacha and the Royals to be much heavier favorites in this game.
