Atlanta Braves vs. New York Mets Prediction: Can Luis Severino, Mets Stay Red-Hot Against Braves?
Chris Sale is the frontrunner to win the NL Cy Young award. In the midst of a career resurgence, will he be able to defeat the hottest team in baseball on the road on Thursday, or will the Mets stay hot at Citi Field?

Atlanta Braves vs. New York Mets Prediction
Pitchers are creatures of habit and are extremely routine-oriented. They don’t like when games get delayed, early games or when their starts get moved. Chris Sale has gotten his start pushed back the last two days. In the midst of an incredible career resurgence, could this be what throws Sale off this season? Considering his start got pushed back multiple times and we just had the All Star Break, I wouldn’t be surprised if Sale looks a little off on Thursday night…
The Mets are the hottest team in baseball right now. They just swept the Yankees on the road in their last series, and they are now welcoming the struggling Braves into town. Atlanta has lost their last four games in a row. They just can’t seem to get any consistent offensive production going. They’ve struggled for the better part of the last two months, and I’m not expecting that to change anytime soon…
Luis Severino is coming off one of his best starts of the season. Expect him to dominate once again at Citi Field, where he currently owns a 2.82 ERA this season. Severino has pitched much better at home this year, and as this struggling Braves offense heads up to New York, I’m willing to bet he shuts down their bats once again on Thursday.
When everybody expected the Mets to be contenders last season, it’s starting to seem like they were one year off. This Mets team is a legitimate contender, and with a win tonight, they will pull to within half a game of the Braves at the top of the NL Wildcard standings. Continue to back this red-hot Mets team, even if that means fading Chris Sale. The Mets have slowly moved from (+110) to (-110) on the moneyline, a great sign for Mets backers considering they are currently bringing in less than half the bets (on VSiN).
Fade the overrated Braves and back the Mets to win for the eighth time in 11 games. They are the hottest team in baseball right now, hence why the odds are shifting towards a Pick ‘Em even with Chris Sale on the mound for Atlanta. I’ll meet you at the cash counter when Severino out-pitches the Cy Young favorite…
