With all the day-game action, we aren’t left with many MLB games to sweat out on Thursday night. I’ve got a few overs I’m eyeing across the league… let’s dive right into the plays…
Cincinnati Reds vs. Miami Marlins Prediction
The Marlins have been playing better baseball of late. They won yesterday’s matchup against the Reds, and with a matchup against Hunter Greene the total in this game has risen from 7.5 to 8. That’s an interesting move in a pitchers park with an All-Star on the mound for Cincinnati.
With the total on the rise, I’m expecting the offenses to show up much like they did in the first three games in this series. The Marlins have been scrappy at the plate in recent weeks, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they win this game outright, but let’s lock in the over as the Reds are good for some runs against Tyler and the Marlins as well.

Tampa Bay Rays vs. St. Louis Cardinals Prediction
The Rays have dropped the first two games of this series. The under has cashed in the first two games as well, but the total in this matchup on Thursday has jumped from 7.5 to 8.5. I’m seeing runs at Busch Stadium in the final game of this series. The Rays have a solid young arm on the mound, but this veteran Cardinals lineup should be able to scrape some runs together. It’s the matchup of the Rays’ bats against Gibson that really excites me…
Kyle Gibson has been extremely hittable over the last few weeks, raising his ERA from a 3.44 to 4.04 in just seven starts. The Rays will be hungry to avoid a sweep, and with the total on the rise, you’re going to want to lock this over in before it gets any higher.

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Arizona Diamondbacks Prediction
The Phillies offense woke up against the Dodgers in Los Angeles this week. They should fare well against a struggling left-hander in Arizona on Thursday. Jordan Montgomery has yet to put it all together after a late start to the 2024 season. Expect his struggles to continue as the Phillies regain some of their confidence after a couple slow weeks. That series win against the Dodgers was impressive…
The total in this game has risen from 9.5 to 10, and it’s not just because Montgomery is going to struggle. Allard has been solid for the Phillies of late, but the Diamondbacks are one of the hottest teams in baseball right now. They are seeing beachballs at the plate, and a matchup against a young lefty could be exactly what the snakes are looking for. Lock-in this over before the total gets any higher… it’s already touching double digits on most books.
