Garrett Crochet might be on an innings restriction, but that doesn’t mean he can’t go out there and shove for four or five innings. He dominated the Twins for four innings in his last outing, and this Cubs lineup is much less formidable. I’m expecting a great start from Crochet, setting the tone for the White Sox in the first game of this series.
When a team fires their manager, they tend to have solid success in their next game. That system applies for every major sport. There’s something about firing the coach that motivates a team, and they typically end up winning the first game after the move. I’m banking on a White Sox team that’s struggled immensely in 2024 to hit the reset button on the season after firing their manager and having an off day.
The Cubs are one of the more overrated teams in baseball. Entering this series coming off two straight wins, this is the perfect spot to fade the Cubs. Jameson Taillon is coming off a gem against the Cardinals, but he’s been hittable over the last few weeks. He’s allowed six or more hits in three of his last four starts.
