Best MLB Strikeout Bets: Lock In This Expert's Best MLB Player Prop Bets for Friday

With a near-full slate of games on the horizon, there are plenty of interesting pitching matchups to take advantage of.

Here are my favorite three strikeout props for tonight's slate of games in the MLB.

August 16 Best MLB Strikeout Props

Gerrit Cole Over 6.5 Ks (-136) CLICK HERE TO SEE WHICH SPORTSBOOK HAS THE BEST ODDS

Gerrit Cole looks a bit more comfortable on the mound over the last couple of games. Cole has struck out 26.8% of batters over the last month and has allowed just 4.1% of walks.

He's held his last 44 lefties to a .302 wOBA and has also induced more than 42% of ground against lefties. Tonight, he'll likely face more lefties than righties in the Detroit lineup.

More importantly, the projected Tigers lineup has struck out nearly 26% of the time against righties over the last month. There are five batters in the Detroit lineup with strikeout rates of at least 24.4%.

That said, we'll back Gerrit Cole to produce at least seven strikeouts in tonight's ball game.

Paul Skenes Over 8.5 Ks (+104) CLICK HERE TO SEE WHICH SPORTSBOOK HAS THE BEST ODDS

Paul Skenes will face six high-strikeout targets in the Seattle lineup tonight. The Tigers just swept the Mariners and will now have to face Paul Skenes, coming off a brutal start to the week.

Skenes has seen his strikeouts dip over the last month. But he's still added 25.7% of strikeouts over the last month. In addition, he's still struck out 32.2% of batters this season.

The Mariners have a lot of power potential. But the power potential won't exist if they can't connect against Skenes. Let's take Skenes to add at least nine strikeouts in tonight's ball game. He'll likely have a couple of innings with only strikeouts.

Aaron Nola Under 5.5 Ks (-118) CLICK HERE TO SEE WHICH SPORTSBOOK HAS THE BEST ODDS

Aaron Nola has really struggled over the last month with the Phillies. The former All-Star righty has only struck out 17.7% of batters over the last 30 days. He's also allowed a .264 ISO and wOBA of .411 to his last 124 batters.

Tonight, he'll face a Washington Nationals lineup that has only struck out 13.6% of the time against righties over the last month.

Only James Wood has a strikeout percentage higher than 21.9% in the Washington lineup over the last month.

Instead, there are six batters with strikeout rates of no higher than 13.6% against righties.

I don't see where Nola can earn at least six strikeouts. Take his Under to finish out the night.
