The Los Angeles Dodgers will attempt to sweep the New York Yankees at Dodgers Stadium during Sunday Night Baseball tonight. It's been all Dodgers through the first two games of this World Series rematch, winning 8-5 on Friday, before routing the Bronx Bombers 18-2 on Saturday.
Ryan Yarbrough will take the mound for the Yankees on Sunday Night Baseball. New York's left-handed pitcher has a 3.06 ERA and a 2-0 record as a starter for New York in 2025. Yarbrough has allowed five total runs in four starts.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto will toe the rubber for the Dodgers. He's got an impressive 1.97 ERA with a 6-3 record as a starter this season. Yamamoto has allowed more than two runs just once in 2025.

Yankees vs. Dodgers Prediction
Yankees slugger Aaron Judge has hit three home runs in the first two games of this series. However, it hasn't been enough to match the bats in the Dodgers lineup.
Los Angeles out-hit New York 21-7 on Saturday, scoring 10 runs in the first two innings, before taking a dominant 14-1 lead into the 6th inning. On Friday, the Yankees built a 5-2 lead after five innings, mashing four home runs to take control. Then, Max Fried imploded in the 6th inning, allowing the Dodgers to score four runs, which sealed the win for Los Angeles.
The pitching edge in this matchup goes to Yamamoto. Yet, most of his starts in May were pedestrian, allowing the Diamondbacks and Athletics to each record at least three runs, combining for eight total runs. These are the only two opponents that have managed to score more than two runs against Yamamoto in 2025.
After that mini-slump, Yamamoto bounced back against the Diamondbacks and Guardians in late May, holding them to a combined four hits and two total runs. The 26-year-old Japanese pitcher also racked up 16 total strikeouts during this recent two-game stretch.
Yarbrough is an interesting prospect for the Yankees. He just became a starter in May and had quality outings, holding the Rays, Athletics, Rangers and Angels to five total runs in 20 innings worth of work.
Yamamoto was great against the Yankees in the World Series last Fall, allowing one hit, which was a solo home run by former Yankees power hitter, Juan Soto. He should be ready to roll against New York's lineup in the comfortable confines of Dodger Stadium during Sunday Night Baseball.
New York hasn't lost three consecutive games since May 3rd - May 5th. Los Angeles has won four of its last five games SU, including four straight at Dodger Stadium. Something has to give tonight.
The Yankees looked in control early on Friday night before Fried's disastrous 6th inning. Yamamoto has allowed three or more hits in three of his last four starts, while walking multiple batters in five of his last six starts.
Yarbrough is being undervalued in this spot against the Dodgers lineup. Since becoming a starter, the Yankees' left-handed pitcher has been great at limiting opponent runs. In his previous three starts, Yarbrough has only walked two total batters. On the flip side, he has given up a home run in three straight starts.
The Dodgers' 18-2 win on Saturday has created value on the Yankees ahead of Sunday Night Baseball. Here are some of the most relevant trends. New York has won 13 of its last 14 day games against NL West opponents following a loss. They've won the 1st inning in four straight games as an underdog, while leading after three innings in six of their last seven games against opponents with a winning record.
Judge and the Yankees won't go out quietly and should put up a fight early after getting thrashed on Saturday. Yarbrough is underrated and should be able to pitch well enough to keep New York from falling into an early deficit.
