Duke vs. Arkansas Prediction: Can Trevon Brazile, Razorbacks Upset Blue Devils?
It hasn’t been an ideal start for the Razorbacks, who are just one game over .500 as we approach conference play. Before they dive into SEC action, Arkansas welcomes in the Duke Blue Devils for the ACC/SEC Challenge. Will Duke stay hot in their first road game of the season, or will Arkansas shock the world and knock off the Blue Devils?

Duke vs. Arkansas Prediction
Tonight’s matchup against Arkansas will be Duke’s first true road game this season. We saw this team struggle on the road at times last year, and this is a brutal spot for their first game away from Cameron Indoor Stadium. I wouldn’t want to play against the Muss Bus after two consecutive losses…
It’s been a tough start to the season for Arkansas, who is still trying to figure out their ideal rotation. Luckily for the Razorbacks, they match up well with the Blue Devils. Both of these teams have an offensive-minded big (Trevon Brazile and Kyle Filipowski), a defensive minded big (Makhi Mitchell and Mark Mitchell), and a plethora of scoring options in the backcourt.
The main difference between these two squads, besides their records, is their pace of play. Duke ranks 221st in the country in possessions per game, and the Razorbacks rank 35th. I’m fully expecting Arkansas make Duke uncomfortable on the road tonight, speeding them up and taking them out of their normal rhythm.
Coach Musselman is one of the most well-respected coaches in the country. He knows how important this game is, not only for Arkansas’ record, but for their confidence. We’ve seen Coach Muss put out some bigger lineups in recent games without El Ellis in the starting rotation. Personally, I think this is the perfect opportunity to let Ellis, Davis and Battle run wild on the Blue Devils, pushing the pace and determining this game’s tempo.
Even if the Razorbacks are without Tramon Mark, I don’t see a world where they don’t keep this game within the number. This spread has slowly crept back from ARK +5.5 to ARK +4.5, even with the Mark injury news not looking too positive. Buy low on Arkansas, and fade Duke in their first road game of the season.
