Ohio State vs. Notre Dame Prediction
Head coach Marcus Freeman has done an outstanding job since taking over the Notre Dame program. Few teams in college football have been more successful as a program than Notre Dame. However, the Irish's success has slowed down over the last four decades.
Since 1988, the Irish have not won a National Championship. That is unacceptable at the University of Notre Dame. The Irish rank first all-time in National Championships, but critics will quickly mention many of those National Championships that took place over six decades ago.
Notre Dame stormed past Indiana in the first round, and followed that win to win an impressive performance against the University of Georgia. In the semifinals, Notre Dame fell behind Penn State early, but came back to even the score late. Kicker Mitch Jeter delivered the biggest kick of his career, sending Notre Dame to the National Championship.
Ohio State rolls into the contest as a heavy 8.5-point favorite. The Buckeyes entered the season as the betting favorite to win the National Championship. However, OSU suffered two losses, including one in the season's final week against Michigan.
No team in college football benefitted more from the 12-team playoff format than Ohio State. In years past, that second loss might have held them out of the playoffs. Ohio State dominated rounds one and two against Tennessee and Oregon. Last Friday, Ohio State was tested early, but ended the game with a comfortable two-score win over Texas.
Let’s dive into my SGP winner.
Ohio State vs. Notre Dame Same-Game Parlay
Leg 1: Riley Leonard Anytime TD Scorer
The Irish will need to get creative to put up points against Ohio State.
Leonard is one of the best duel-threat quarterbacks in the game and will see a heavy workload in the red zone with his legs tonight.
Jeremiyah Love is not at 100% , which will lead to even more red zone touches for Leonard.
Leg 2: Jeremiah Smith Anytime TD Scorer
The freshman star was quiet last weekend.
Smith was held to one catch for three yards last weekend.
I anticipate a breakout game from Smith after that lackluster performance.
Leg 3: Jordan Faison Over 34.5 Receiving Yards
The game script will bode well for this prop.
The Irish will likely trail in this game, forcing them to throw more often in the second half.
Faison has seen an increase in volume and has played much better over the last three weeks.
