Chargers vs. Titans Prediction, Pick, Odds: Ryan Tannehill Must Limit Turnovers Moving Forward

We've got a bout between two teams that lost in Week 1.

The Chargers scored 34 points against the Dolphins but still lost 36-34 at home. Meanwhile, the Titans held the Saints to 16 points but lost 16-15.

The Titans and Chargers are entirely different teams. The Chargers typically rely on offense, and the Titans usually have the more robust defense.

It doesn't look like anything has changed this season.

Which team will dictate the style of play on Sunday?

Here are our picks, predictions, and odds for Sunday's game between the Los Angeles Chargers vs. Tennessee Titans.

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Tennessee Titans Prediction

The Los Angeles Chargers added 462 yards on offense against the Dolphins last weekend.

However, it wasn't enough in a shootout loss in Miami. The Chargers allowed 466 yards passing and 70 more on the ground.

The defense was terrible all around. The run defense didn't play well, the coverage was awful, and the Chargers missed many tackles in the loss. Meanwhile, the pass rush was a bit better, but again, the defense was horrible.

That defense will face off against Ryan Tannehill and the Titans' offense. Tannehill threw three interceptions against the Saints last weekend. He also completed just 16-of-34 from the field and had no touchdowns with less than 200 yards passing.

However, Tannehill still had time in the pocket plenty of times. The pass protection wasn't bad, and he's still got a better-receiving core than last season. The veteran needs to limit the turnovers and understand that the Titans' defense will help Tennessee win games. He doesn't need to force things.

The Titans should run behind Derrick Henry and Tajae Spears and rely on the defense to give them good field position.

Meanwhile, the Tennessee defense allowed 374 yards to the Saints last week. Still, the Saints only added 69 yards on the ground. Tennessee was more disciplined in tackling and had a pass rush that would rush quarterbacks.

Justin Herbert of the Chargers only threw for 228 yards last weekend. Like Tannehill, Herbert has a solid offensive line in front of him. They'll protect him and allow him to make plays down the field.

But Los Angeles' offense could struggle against a Tennessee defense that continues to allow a low amount of points. It's on Ryan Tannehill's shoulders. If the Titans run the football effectively, limit turnovers, and rely on the defense, the Titans should cover as three-point underdogs.
