We have another interesting matchup for Thursday Night Football this week as the Denver Broncos travel to New Orleans to take on the New Orleans Saints. The total for this game sits at 37.5, so we may get a very low scoring matchup tonight especially with all the injuries to key players that both teams have. Despite this, I have found a player prop ladder play that I am really liking for the game. I am going to be targeting Devaughn Vele, wide receiver for the Denver Broncos to go over 15.5 yards for his longest reception and will also be taking 20+ and 30+ yard alternate longest receptions. Thursday Night Football Prediction
Vele is coming off of his best game of this 2024 season, as he posted a four-catch 78-yard performance. In that game against the Los Angeles Chargers, he had three catches that would have cleared this line. These three receptions went for 17, 20, and 37 yards.
The matchup also looks great on paper against the Saints. The Saints have struggled against slot wide receivers this season. Five of the last six slot wide receivers have gone over their receiving yards line, averaging 77 yards per game. They also have averaged 6.83 targets per game. I think a big reason for this is that they have Marcus Lattimore and Paulson Adebo as outside corners, who are both solid corners, but that means the inside help is lacking.
The Saints also have been allowing a ton of passing yards this season at the 4th-most in the NFL. They have allowed seven total wide receivers to have a 30+ yard longest reception so far this season, and four of those receivers were slot wide receivers. Vele has ran 82% of his routes in the slot this season, so this sets up nicely for him. I think he gets heavily targeted once again and is able to bring in a longest reception of 20 or 30+ yards tonight!
