Falcons vs. Buccaneers Prediction, Betting Pick, Latest Odds

The Atlanta Falcons will head to Tampa Bay to square off with the wounded Buccaneers in a critical NFC South divisional battle.

The Bucs had a rough go last week, getting blown away by the Ravens after a promising start. They were up double digits before Mike Evans went out with a hamstring injury, and just a few quarters later, they lost Chris Godwin for the entire season. Those two were the staples of their offense, and it remains to be seen how Baker Mayfield will adjust going forward without his weapons.

The Falcons come into this one after a lackluster effort against the Seattle Seahawks, where they couldn't seem to get the offense going. They managed just 14 points at home, and Kirk Cousins threw two interceptions. Will they bounce back on the road today against the Bucs as they try to take control of the division? Let's take a look at the latest Falcons vs. Bucs odds for NFL Week 8.

Atlanta Falcons vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Prediction

When these two teams met a few weeks ago, the Bucs had a vastly different offense. They are now hobbled with recent injuries, and will have to change their play style. The one upside for Tampa is their dynamic run game, switching between Rachaad White and rookie Bucky Irving. They'll certainly look to lean on that today against the Falcons as they hope to build a lead without their star receivers.

These NFC South division games have had next to no defense so far. The Saints and Bucs went to 78 points a few weeks ago in a 51-27 blowout. Before that, the Bucs vs. Falcons was a 36-30 overtime battle. That will change today in the rematch, with these new injuries and changed style of play. The Bucs are not going to be able to run and gun down the field without Chris Godwin and Mike Evans. Baker Mayfield will take some time to warm up and build chemistry with youngsters Jalen McMillan and Trey Palmer. Expect some drops and miscommunications today as the once-potent Bucs offense slows down.

We're going to take the under for that reason, grabbing this at 46.5. No one is expecting a lower-scoring game, with over 75% of the bets on the over. However, this total has continued to fall down, and there's also 42% of the money backing the under despite just 24% of the total bets. With both QBs loading up on interceptions in recent weeks, we should expect more giveaways and stalled drives as these two NFC South sides look to tighten up on defense and run the rock today.
