The Houston Texans roll into this contest with a strong 6-2 record. Early in the season, Houston appears to be one of the best teams in the AFC and the NFL. According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Texans currently have the ninth-best odds to win the Super Bowl. This Texans franchise has never won the Super Bowl.
C.J. Stroud and company will attempt to flip that narrative this season. Houston is a part of the AFC South, which is widely considered the worst division in the NFL. If the Texans can win on the road tonight, they will take a 2.5-game lead over the Indianapolis Colts in the division. Houston is 2-2 playing on the road this season, while representing a perfect 4-0 home record.
New York starts the contest with a 2-6 record. No team in the NFL has been more disappointing than the New York Jets. New York has been one of the worst teams in football over the past two decades.
Entering the season, the Jets faithful were hopeful that future hall-of-fame signal-caller Aaron Rodgers could break the curse this season. The Jets have not reached the postseason since 2010. New York has not had a winning record since the 2015 season when Ryan Fitzpatrick was under center. Despite the 2-6 record, New York is a 1.5-point favorite tonight.
