Vikings vs. Rams Prediction, Betting Pick, Latest Odds for NFC Wild Card Game on Monday Night Football

The Los Angeles Rams and the Minnesota Vikings will meet for the final game of Wildcard Weekend tonight. The location of this game was moved due to the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles. Glendale, Arizona, will be the new site for this matchup at the Arizona Cardinals facility.

Los Angeles comes into the game with a record of 10-7. That record earned the Rams an NFC West Championship. Head coach Sean McVay and the Rams began the year 1-4. Since Week 6, the Rams have been one of the best teams in the NFL.

Los Angeles has playoff experience, including winning the Super Bowl in 2022. LA reached the playoffs last year, but dropped a thriller in wildcard weekend against the Detroit Lions. The Rams have won five of their last six games entering this year's playoff opener.

Vikings vs. Rams Prediction for NFC Wild Card

Veteran signal caller Matthew Stafford leads the offense with 3,762 passing yards, 20 touchdowns, and eight picks. Former Notre Dame star Kyren Williams has rushed for 1,299 yards and 14 touchdowns. Puka Nacua leads the Rams with 990 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Los Angeles ranks 17th in points allowed per game (22.2). The Vikings begin the game with a record of 14-3. That record would have won most divisions in football, but not the NFC North.

The Vikings' last game of the regular season came down to a matchup against the Detroit Lions. The winner would get the number one seed in the NFC, and the loser would become the fifth seed. Minnesota lost the contest, 31-9. The 14-win season for Minnesota was their best year since 1998, when they went 15-1.

Minnesota has not won a playoff game since 2020. The Vikings last appeared in the playoffs in 2023, when they lost to the New York Giants. Minnesota has never won a Super Bowl.

Veteran Sam Darnold has enjoyed the best year of his career. The former USC signal-caller has thrown for 4,319 yards, 35 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. First-year Viking Aaron Jones leads the ground game with 1,138 yards and five touchdowns. Justin Jefferson has turned in another excellent season with 1,533 yards and 10 touchdowns. Brian Flores' defense ranks 5th in points allowed per game (19.5).

Vikings vs. Rams Pick

We will trust the underdog tonight to cover this number.

Headed into the playoffs, the Rams are playing their best football of the season. Los Angeles had won five straight games before sitting their starters in the final week.

The Rams have experience playing in big games. I trust Stafford more than Darnold in this matchup.
