Vancouver Canucks vs. Nashville Predators Prediction
If you know anything about hockey totals, you know that teams that score early have a huge advantage in the totals game. If you score early, you are more likely to score a lot and score often. Luckily for us, these two teams are great at just that.
Nashville has slightly regressed but they still rank fourth highest for first period scoring in the league at 21/31 on the season. Vancouver is a bit further back ranking tenth at 20/32 but they rank fourth best for the GIFT at 71.88% and are 8-2 for it over their last ten games.
Vancouver is the second best team in the league offensively on the road this season scoring 3.61 GPG when on enemy ice, Nashville is nothing impressive at 3.17 GPG on home ice but it is on the right side of that key number of 3.00. With the way these squads have played each other historically, this is a hard spot for me to pass up.
Four of the last five games between theses squads have gone over and I expect this one to get to the number here at worst. I wish we would have gotten it earlier in the day with less juice but I'd rather buy the hook down for some safety than get burned by the hook if it comes down to it.
