Thursday Racing Picks: Belmont Park
Nine races on the card today at Belmont and our racing handicapper has four selections, starting with race 1.
Race 1 – PICK: MIDNIGHT BANKER (6/1 ML) - Click here to bet on Midnight Banker with TVG
None in this race have been getting as close as Midnight Banker to breaking their maidens and it’s time to side with Gary Gullo’s new recruit now dropped in grade. The four-year-old was a beaten favorite last time out, but that was in a better race than this and the barn change could well bring about some improvement.
Race 2 – PICK: INSIDE INFO (4/1 ML) - Click here to bet on Inside Info with TVG
Morning line favorite Mental Model has to be taken on here as she simply hasn’t been running well this season and it’s time to chance the unexposed Inside Info. Brad Cox’s three-year-old is the least exposed member of this line-up and won impressively over track and trip last time out. He’s open to more improvement than most and gets the nod here.
Race 6 – PICK: NASTY AFFAIR (6/1 ML) - Click here to bet on Nasty Affair with TVG
Nasty Affair showed a lot of guts to pull out the win last time out, defeating today’s rival First Dawn by a neck at Aqueduct and she’s picked to go in again here with that confidence-boosting win behind her. Makingcents is a danger as the unexposed one in here, but this is a very different race to the one she won by ten lengths at Aqueduct and could be a shock to the system.
Race 8 – PICK: CASINO GRANDE (8/5 ML) - Click here to bet on Casino Grande with TVG
Six runners but a classy lineup in our lucky last. Celtic Striker probably sets the form standard with his sixth place finish behind Maxfield last time, but it’s Casino Grande for the Christophe Clement barn who rates the bet. The selection had the wow-factor about him on his last start when winning by over three lengths at Gulfstream and he can announce himself as a big contender this season by taking this.
