All five nursery debutants are open to improvement, with WELEYFF getting the vote. The Ed Bethell-trained colt had a subsequent winner behind him in fourth when opening his account at Ayr and an opening mark of 81 looks workable. For all that Eighth Immortal has proved expensive to follow in two outings to date, he hasn't been disgraced, especially when runner-up on debut to Vintage winner Dr Rascal at Leicester, and is expected to be involved once more, along Lincoln Warrior, who was behind Jack Jones' charge at Chester.
