oddschecker Verdict

Desert Castle created a big impression when readily taking the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster and it would be no surprise to see him play a leading role once again. That said, he takes on a stronger field here and marginal preference is for DARKNESS FALLS. The son of Camelot bolted up in a Curragh maiden and was equally impressive when taking the Group 1 Golden Fleece at Leopardstown. This drop in trip is a slight concern, but the progressive colt may well be up to the challenge. Coventry winner Great Barrier Reef lost his unbeaten record when narrowly denied last time, but it is far too soon to be writing him off.

Prediction: 1st Darkness Falls, 2nd Desert Castle, 3rd Great Barrier Reef
