Sporting Life Preview
Desert Doctor has done all of his racing so far on artificial surfaces and Music Society is having only his second start on Turf. MAYBRIDE did not a bad race in her first season and was impressive when getting off the mark at Leicester in October – she could be well treated on her reappearance and first run in a handicap. Captain Jameson won at Catterick and Doncaster in the autumn and also warrants respect while Consequences was successful over course and distance in November. Dragons Tail seems a consistent sort so may be the pick of the remainder at the weights, though Rebel Assault will strip fitter for a recent pipe-opener.
MUSIC SOCIETY finished ahead of Corinthia Knight when second in a conditions contest at Wolverhampton in December and with that rival in sparkling form on the all-weather since, winning four times, including in Listed company in France and in the 3 Year Old Final at Lingfield, the form has been nicely franked. Captain Jameson is 6lb higher than when striking on soft ground at Doncaster and is worth a market check, likewise Maybride, who was fifth in the Two-Year-Old Trophy at Redcar last term and appears on a workable mark now handicapping.
Prediction: 1st Music Society, 2nd Maybride, 3rd Captain Jameson
