Sporting Life Preview

Red Vermillion would be a snip back on the all-weather on a mark of 46 as he's improved markedly on Turf and is 9lb higher. He won over the track and trip in June and again over 2m at Tramore so should get competitive. FUJIMOTO FLYER (NAP), a winner over hurdles at Killarney and Auteuil and runner-up in a Grade 2 at Kempton, has failed to finish in two starts over timber in recent weeks. She's still only four and remains a filly with great potential so gets the nod to concede weight all-round. Loudest Whisper gained her first victory on the Flat over the track and trip earlier this month but had the benefit of Joey Sheridan's claim and is effectively 14lb higher. High Lake was engaged in the 5.20 at Gowran yesterday but Fiadnha, who ran well over 1m4f at the Curragh last month, missed the race to run here.

oddschecker Verdict

LOUDEST WHISPER won over course and distance on her last start and can follow up. It's not going to be easy as she is up 9lb in the weights and doesn't have a claimer reducing her burden this time. However, she is in form, will relish the ground and jockey Conor Maxwell has been on several times before. Indeed, the pair have been placed in their last three runs when teamed up together. High Lake (also engaged to run at Gowran on Monday) may prove to be the biggest threat on this ground. Her second place in a two-mile handicap on soft ground at Thurles earlier in the month is noted and she is less exposed than most.

Prediction: 1st Loudest Whisper, 2nd High Lake, 3rd Fujimoto Flyer
