Berkshire Regal didn't improve from his debut effort when fifth at Doncaster and he might have to play a minor role once again. Al Sham boasts an excellent pedigree, with his dam a half-sister to Derby/King George winner Adayar, and has to go on the shortlist but the vote is handed to SPARTAN. His price from Tattersalls Book 1 increased when sold for 280,000 euros at the Arqana Breeze-Ups in May and his yard has been going particularly well with juveniles of late.
