Sporting Life Preview

Several of these step up in trip including Saeed in Suroor’s duo with Mutarabby placed over 1m2f at Chelmsford last time and Team Decision landing a hat-trick over shorter distances before disappointing at Beverley. Epaulement has been raised 8lb for winning over 1m2f at Redcar while Humble Hero paid for setting a fast pace at Ascot in August when fading badly in the closing stages. BARTHOLOMEU DIAS (NAP) was beaten only a length over today’s trip at Ascot last month having slipped down the weights. This looks no tougher and Charlie Hills’ charge is also preferred to the likes of Arab Moon and Lynwood Gold, who both drop back down in distance today.

Oddschecker Verdict

EPAULEMENT was handed an 8lb rise for his Redcar triumph last month, but the way he stayed on well there gives hope that Tom Dascombe's three-year-old can take that extra burden in his stride stepping up from 1m2f. Chelmsford third Mutarabby, who has got close to Group winners in the past, is interesting fitted with first-time blinkers, while stablemate Team Decision won three consecutive races before disappointing last time. Arab Moon has generally been racing over further of late but is respected, while Humble Hero merits consideration following a wind operation. Cieren Fallon is an eye-catching jockey booking aboard the William Haggas-trained four-year-old, with the young rider looking good value for his 7lb claim in his short career in the saddle so far.

Prediction: 1st Epaulement, 2nd Mutarabby, 3rd Humble Hero
