Jets @ Patriots – Sunday 18:00

Numerous playoff teams will use week 17 to rest their top players but the Patriots need to focus on winning in order to gain the top AFC seed. The Jets are now using back up QB Bryce Petty and are on a three game losing streak. New England have won six of the last seven meetings and the last time the Jets visited they lost 41-3, we expect the Pats to cover a 15.5 handicap quite easily.

Patriots -15.5 Handicap - 1pt @ 1/1

Browns @ Steelers – Sunday 18:00

The winless Browns are playing for pride only as they aim to win at least one game this year. The Steelers on the other hand need to win to try and take the number one AFC seed going into the playoffs. The Steelers have won 13 of the last 15 meetings and would have covered the current handicap in nine of those matches. The Browns are truly terrible – expect Pittsburgh to cover again.

Steelers -6.5 Handicap - 1pt @ 49/50

Bears @ Vikings – Sunday at 18:00

Minnesota can’t get the number one seed but still need to win this one to get a first round bye for the playoffs. The Bears are inconsistent week to week but will be playing hard considering this is a rivalry game.

The Bears have lost six of the last eight to the Vikings but covered the current handicap of 11.5 in four of those and given the Vikings are likely to rest players in the second half if they do run up a big lead, Chicago can cover the 11.5 spread in a variety of fashions.

Bears +11.5 Handicap - 1pt @ 10/11

Panthers @ Falcons – Sunday 21:25

The biggest game of week 17 is in Atlanta as it’s the only game where playoff implications linger for both teams. Atlanta struggled in defeat last week to the Saints whereas Carolina have now won seven of their last eight games.

The current total points line of 45.5 looks too high as it would have lost in six of the last eight matchups and we’ll take the ‘unders’.

Under 45.5 Points - 1pt @ 8/9

Jaguars @ Titans – Sunday 21:25

The odds in this one seem to suggest that Jacksonville will be resting players but noises from their camp have said otherwise. The Jaguars lost heavily last week so want to win this and enter the playoffs on a high. The Titans, meanwhile, will be in the playoffs with a win.

The Jaguars are just a better team than the Titans right now so with them odds against on the money line that’s got to be the pick.
