We take a look at some of the big winning and losing bets placed on Oddschecker over the weekend.
After a disappointing week at Cheltenham for the majority of punters it was on to the weekend to try and claim some much needed funds back as many turned to the football for salvation.
One Oddschecker punter was so convinced on winning big at the weekend that they lumped a huge £7,500 on three separate accumalators. The first was an eight-fold that would have returned just over £90,000 but for Hibernian's failure to beat Dumbarton at home. Keen to cover their losses, the punter then opted for three of the teams in their original accumalator for a treble on Saturday evening that returned just short of £15,500 thanks to Dundalk, PSV and Sporting Lisbon all winning.
Up at the start of play Sunday, the same punter then went big again on an eight-fold accumaltor and was left fuming when Porto couldn't even beat Vitoria Setubal, as the only team to let them down for what would have been an £76,875 return.
Another punter was relying on the Newcastle and Bolton double for a tidy return of just under £8,000 from a £2,000 stake but, while The Trotters produced the win, the Championship leaders could only draw with Birmingham. This punter wasn't the only one who backed Newcastle this weekend though, the Magpies were backed in over 300 accumalators by Oddschecker users.
While people were left frustrated by Newcastle, there were many celebrating Norwich City's win over Barnsley. It seemed a popular bet to back Norwich following Alex Neil's departure and one punter lumped £1,000 on, and it seemed like easy money as the Canaries soared to a 2-0 lead, and they became £1,700 better off.
Elsewhere a flurry of comebacks in the European leagues on Sunday night from Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Roma secured plenty of accumalators out there to round off a winning weekend.
