Leicester and Man United face off in the traditional curtain raiser on Sunday at Wembley.
Leicester v Man Utd - Sunday 15:00, Sky Sports 1
The annual curtain raiser ahead of the Premier League season is upon us with Leicester and United enjoying very different summers. The Premier League champions have seen plenty of interest in their best players and suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat against PSG last weekend, while United have been spending big and thrashed Galatasaray 5-2 in a recent warm-up.
Both Premier League games between these two last season finished 1-1, which is a 7.5 chance and would mean we’d go to extra-time for the first time since 2009. However, United have won the Community Shield five of the last six times they’ve competed in it and look in better form, with their squad almost settled now, while Leicester have the uncertainty surrounding Mahrez, so the FA Cup winners certainly look the bet.
Mourinho’s Inter beat Ranieri’s Roma in the 2009 Coppa Italia in their only meeting in a cup competition and we expect the Portuguese to triumph here. Zlatan started his Utd career with a bang, scoring a spectacular bicycle kick four minutes into his debut, and after scoring 50 times last season he’ll be hungry for more at his new club so don’t be surprised to see him celebrating again.
