Western Sydney Wanderers v Newcastle Jets - Sunday 09:00, BT Sport 1
After the disappointment of a 4-0 defeat in the Sydney derby on the opening day of the season, the Wanderers bounced back with a 2-1 win at champions Adelaide, despite going a goal down. The Jets have had an impressive start to the season as they managed a draw against Adelaide and thumped Brisbane 4-0, though both of those games were at home.
The defeat against Sydney was only the Wanderers’ fourth at home since the start of last season as they had a W8-D2-L4 record in that time. However, they’re certainly vulnerable defensively, as Sydney proved, because they’ve kept just one clean sheet in their last seven at the Parramatta Stadium.
The Jets were W4-D3-L6 on the road last term, with three of those four victories coming against the only two sides that finished below them, Phoenix and the Mariners. Indeed, when travelling to top-half teams they were W1-D2-L4 but since they’ve now scored in their last six games and were in good scoring form against Brisbane, we’re backing the Wanderers to Win and Both Teams to Score at 3.3.
